The proceeds will go towards the Jan Matejko Special Educational Center No. 1, which is one of Krakow’s oldest – currently in its 74th year of operations – educational centers for special needs students. This event presents an excellent opportunity for connoisseurs and collectors of Polish contemporary art. Bid prices at the auction start from a few hundred zlotys.

About the Big Heart Association

Since the early 1990s, the Big Heart Association has enjoyed the support and trust of the most outstanding Polish artists. The annual auction of their artworks, organized by the Association, benefits the Jan Matejko Special Educational Center No. 1 in Krakow.

The Center currently has 150 students, 40 of whom live in the institution’s boarding facility. Oftentimes, these special needs students come from financially disadvantaged families.

The funds raised through the auction will cover the cost of therapeutic rehabilitation trips for the Association’s charges. In addition to these trips, the money will be used to help the most destitute students at the Center as well as to improve its didactic base and the overall living conditions at its boarding facility.
