The catalogue of the exhibition by Kamil Kukla’s, which was on display at the Bunkier Sztuki
Contemporary Art Gallery from September to November 2019, contains reproductions of paintings
and sculpture by a young artist working in Krakow. The publication has been supplemented with
photos from the exhibition.
The publication includes texts by Anda Rottenberg, Łukasz Zawada and Bartosz Zaskórski on Kukla
and the interview with the artist conducted by Delfina Jałowik.
In the works of Kamil Kukla, realistic representations emerge from the accumulation of expressively
and freely painted abstract elements – plants, animals, body parts and objects. The artist reveals
to the viewer the world of his own fantasies, interests, and temporary fascinations, he also brings
to life new, specific, abstract shapes, says Delfina Jałowik in her text.
Kamil Kukla (born in 1989) studied at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow
over the period 2008–2013. He produces paintings, graphics, sculptures and experimental music.
