In the autumn of 2023 Teresa and Andrzej Starmach donated a large part of their art collection to two Krakow institutions. Their gift for MOCAK and MuFo and, in fact, for Krakow is one of the most spectacular transfers of art from the private to the public sphere.
The show will feature, among others, Tadeusz Kantor’s “Everything is Hanging by a Thread“, Magdalena Abakanowicz’s “War Games” and Jerzy Nowosielski’s theatrical designs.
The exhibition venue is non-accidental. The show at the modernised Bunkier Sztuki headquarters will honour the nearly 60-year history of the gallery, which is one of the most important Polish institutions presenting contemporary art and at the same time inaugurate its return to exhibition activities.
