Stacja Pi.Stacja was created in 1990, less than a year after the political transition, by Adam Rzepecki, Katarzyna Pochrzęst and Grzegorz Zygier. Why Stacja [Station]? Why Pistacja [Pistaccio]? No one can remember. According to the artists, it is not so much an art group as a state of mind. Pi.Stacja carries out performative actions in which they comment on the absurdity of the reality around them.

The exhibition will show archival materials – photos, notes, invitations, catalogues, elements of set design and videos. They will include documentation of Pi.Stacja’s most famous actions: „Nie pie*dol kwiatuszku” [Cut the Crap Honey] and „Ty idź żebrać, a my Cię będziemy lansować” [You go begging, and we will promote you]. The first action involved the artists kneeling for 90 minutes with their faces to the wall, their backs to the audience, in complete silence. As part of the second action, the three of them jumped into a small tub and splashed water out, only to try to get it back in a moment later, with equal enthusiasm.

Pi.Stacja’s activities revolve around neo-Dadaist humour, social situations and the absurdities of young capitalism in the 1990s.
