Bunkier. Collection 2024

We will present art pieces that have expanded the Bunkier Sztuki Collection this year. Works by Marta Antoniak, Kinga Nowak, Justyna Smoleń and Wojciech I. Sobczyk in terms of form, theme or technique refer to the traditions of art and craft. The artists demonstrate technical proficiency and at the same time create thoroughly contemporary works of art. Nostalgia is combined here with a fair amount of humour and a distanced view of the heritage of the past.

The premise of the Collection, which has been expanding for six decades, is to create a compilation of works by artists associated with Kraków that takes into account the most important contemporary art phenomena.

The works were purchased as part of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage National Collection of Contemporary Art 2024 program, with the financial support of the Department of Culture at the Municipality of Kraków, as well as donated to the Collection.
